August bank holiday opening

The library will be closed Bank Holiday Monday while we frolic in the sunshine. Here is hoping!

We will be back 8:30am Tuesday with late night opening till 7pm.

NewhamCat - coming to a desktop near you soon...


In the very near future the Knowledge & Library Service will be launching a new service - NewhamCat.

NewhamCat will make it easier to access our resources.

  • Search for books, ebooks, DVDs etc without coming to the Library
  • Reserve or request items
  • Check what you have on loan and renew due items

Newham staff now have access to a wide range of ebooks on midwifery topics using your Athens username. If you are not already registered on Athens then use this online form to sign up now (NB you must be at work for immediate access).

The Knowledge & Library Service is pleased to announce the launch of a new resource brought to you in partnership with Well @ Work. All staff can now borrow books and DVDs on a broad range of topics in support of a healthy home and work life.

From yoga to cycle maintenance, stress management to salsa, Pilates to personal effectiveness and more...

You can also browse the latest copy of Time Out to spot opportunities for both healthy and less healthy activities.

You will find the Well @ Work Section by the sofas in the library upstairs in the Education Centre. We are open from 8:30am to 7pm Monday / Tuesday and 8:30am to 5pm Wednesday to Friday.
