UpToDate now available anywhere

We are happy to report that UpToDate is now available without a login and password via links on the Intranet.

You will find it linked from the bottom right hand corner of the Barts Health Intranet and all of the intranet links you may previously have used are now up and running again.

The very good news is that we have also been able to Athens enable UpToDate.

For those not already familiar with UpToDate it is a point of care tool to help you answer clinical questions quickly. It has a straightforward search box and offers topic reviews that include a synthesis of the literature, recent evidence and specific recommendations for patient care.

Athens access means you can use at the location of your convience.  While not mobile optimised it is also possible to open the system on the device of your choice.

You can self register for Athens from any Barts Health PC and once registered you can use it from any PC.  The same login will give you access to all our electronic resources (more announcements to come on these).  If you already have an Athens login but have forgotten your details or just need some help contact the teams at library.newham@bartshealth.nhs.uk and library.whippsx@bartshealth.nhs.uk.  

Now on the ward or anywhere the Royal Marsden Manual

The Trust uses the Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures.



To support this the KLS has purchased online access placing the latest edition of the Manual at the fingertips of all staff.

Onsite access is via the Intranet - follow Trust Policies and then Clinical Nursing procedures. No login is required via this route.


Access offsite is via http://www.rmmonline.co.uk/ then click on Athens Authentication Point on the right had side of the screen. Ask KLS staff if you need help getting an Athens account.

Once in you can browse or search to find a procedure.
